News, Notes, Comments, Etc... Updated 01/15/07 Greetings, Welcome to the world of My Cousin Walt 1/15/07 We're still here, we just tend to update our Myspace Page more. For the latest info or dirt on Walt, go there. Also we played a show with Smash Alley Underground playing on the screen (see below). I will post more pictures on one of the pages at some point. Thanks to Alex Boyd for taking the pictures. Without him we wouldn't have a record of the event. Also thanks to Kathy Myers for coming up on the stage and hitting Chris. Alex Boyd Photo 11/02/05 Show!!! December 16 at the Garage, 10 PM. No opening act yet, we're working on it. Here is a picture of the My Cousin Walt chain race car that never got to run. Look for it next year at Bowman Gray stadium. Thanks Darrell from B and R Tire! click for larger picture 10/20/05 We now have a page on MySpace.com. Listen to songs, look at pictures, check tour dates, etc... To go there, click here. No blogs yet, mostly the same stuff thats here but still cool. Check it out. Also we have a show in the works, check back for a date soon. Also look for an update soon to the music page with info on and maybe a song or two from our new CD 1/2 Star (Critically acclaimed by us, see the title!) 9/30/05 On September 3rd, I broke my right leg at the hip (on my bicycle, not in a bizzare gardening accident). Thanks to all that have come to my aid! People even called me "HIPPIE". I've played lots of guitar ("Eye of the Corpse" among others!), and wrote some cool metal riffs while on the mend. Greg Bell (former MCW Guitarist) came by and played more metal (because he can!) and encourages purchase of Eddie Van Halen signature Phaser pedal. It looks cool and sounds good too. More metal is played. Think "Unchained". Mike can play it better than me, its pretty funny though. If Chris can sing it, maybe we'll have a new cover, but I'll have to buy a gong just so I can set it on fire like in the "Unchained" video. Erik, its up to you to do the 2 handed tapping and dive bombs. In all seriousness, I tried to play drums a couple of weeks ago and it was not good because I don't have much strength in my leg. I tried again yesterday and it was much better so we will be back soon. As bad as it is, I don't have any storys about giving up trying to keep a band together though, you'll have to go to other bands websites for that. Rock on brother Beavis, Kevin 08/30/05 Paula Bennett Photo (Thanks) Thanks to everyone that made it to the Walt Seedy Release party. We had a great time and hope all you guys did. For those who didn't make it here is the quick recap. A high energy although woefully unprofessional set(what did you expect it's us), fog (although nowhere near enough), and smashed guitars(well make that guitar-but it's ok), plus pickles wrapped in aluminum foil tossed at the stage and you've got a typical Walt show. Thanks to everyone who bought the cd/coaster you guys rule. I'm sure a few of you are scratching your heads at the bonus track(#9). I'll give a detailed explanation of it next week right here so stay tuned. Anyway thanks for your support. Oh yeah if you want to be added to our e-mail list, just send a blank e-mail with the subject "Walt" to kberoth@triad.rr.com and we'll add you. Later, Mike Click here for the King in a MCW Thong 7/21/05 CD artwork is done and CD should be sent to duplicators in the next couple of days in order to be ready for the release party on August 27th 06/29/05 Sorry for so long since the site has been updated. I could give a long list of excuses but what good would that do. Alot has happened; our new CD, "Half Star", is complete, as far as recording, mixing and mastering are concerned. We are working on the artwork and long list of thank yous for the packaging. We are also planning a media onslaught with new and exciting promo merchandise. Our seedy (CD) release party will be on August 27th at the Garage in Winston-Salem. Also, to our surprise (we thought it was a joke or we were getting punk'd by Brent and Greg), we received an "Artsy" award from the Lewisville Area Arts Council for "Achievement in Music - Group - Rock/Pop/Alternative". We got to go to a Wine and Cheese reception at Westbend Vinyards in Lewisville and our picture was on the cover of the Villager Voice magazine.
Click here for pictures of the Chain Race at Bowman Gray on 6/5/04. A chain race is one of the funniest things you'll ever see! Congratulations to Darrell and Justin in the General Lee cars. Look for My Cousin Walt stickers on these cars soon!!!!
Fog is GOOD!
Older News: We have a new guitarist, Erik Freeman, and we have played another show (if you want to call it that) on October 17th. My Cousin Walt (duh-who the band is named after) said he was having a chicken stew and asked me if I knew any good bands (We both laughed). I told him I didn't, laughed, then told him that we may be able to do it but I would have to check with everybody. Chris said it would be sacrilegious (that is the correct spelling, I looked it up) not to, Mike was up for it, and Erik, with just a couple of practices under his belt said he would do it too. We did it, ran almost everybody out, but it was alot of fun. Click here or the picture to see more. Thanks! Kevin Click here or the picture to see more of the 7/10/03 Alive After 5 pictures. This was Greg Bell's last show. Now we really are "Modified" Southern Rock! Click here or the picture for more
See us at a show and we'll give you some of our new MCW stickers.
